This piece emerged over three weeks, during a time when I felt the need to retreat and find solace away from the world. My original intention was to depict the safety found under the shelter of God's wings, but as I painted, it evolved into a deeply personal reflection of my own state of mind. The figure, with her eyes softly closed, symbolizes a moment of hiding—a time to seek balance, gather strength, and rediscover hope.
Delicate flowers surround her, hinting at the quiet beauty that can still be found in moments of withdrawal. The wings—whether seen as feathers of protection or peacock-like plumes of resilience—extend from her being, reminding me of the promise of safety even in the midst of vulnerability. This painting, to me, is about the journey back to a place of balance and the quiet anticipation of renewal and peace.
