Between Us

Some connections defy explanation. They exist before words, survive beyond distance, and persist through every kind of change. They are simply there — woven into who we are, part of the texture of our lives.

This small but deeply resonant mixed media painting explores exactly that. Two stylized figures, anonymous and universal, exist side by side against a richly layered background of texture, colour, and collage. They need no faces to tell their story. Their closeness says everything — the quiet, unspoken language of people who belong to each other.

Painted on a cradled board with the kind of detail that rewards close looking, this is a piece that speaks differently to everyone who sees it — a partner, a parent, a child, a friend. Whoever comes to mind is the right answer.

We are shaped by the people we belong to. A family, a group of friends, a community — the invisible threads between us are some of the strongest forces in a human life, and some of the hardest to see until we stop and look.

This painting makes them visible. Four stylized figures, grouped with an intimacy that needs no explanation, inhabit a richly textured, expressive composition that hums with warmth and connection. The mixed media layering gives the work a depth that mirrors its subject — there is always more beneath the surface, always another layer to discover. The palette is vibrant and contemporary, full of life, full of the energy that moves between people who truly know each other.

A small but significant work — the kind that finds the perfect spot and stays there for years.

A serene, stylised female figure stands against a deep, velvety dark ground — her face rendered in cool grey-blue, her expression unreadable but entirely at ease. Her golden hair is smooth and perfectly set. Her floral dress is a beautiful collage of layered papers, printed blossoms, and handwritten text, soft and intimate as a diary page or a love letter.

And there, perched on her shoulder with complete familiarity, is a small grey mouse — leaning in close, as though sharing a secret. The figure doesn’t flinch. She trusts it completely. Between them exists a private understanding the rest of the world is not privy to.

Wonderfully peculiar, quietly enchanting, and impossible to forget — this is a painting for collectors who love art with a story just out of reach and a personality entirely its own.

There is a particular kind of strength that only exists in company. Not the strength of the individual standing alone — but the quiet, unshakeable kind that comes from walking side by side with someone who knows you.

Three figures move together beneath the open sky — stylised and anonymous, and yet unmistakably present to one another. The sun is above them, the ground is beneath them, and between them there is something solid and good. The mixed media layering on stretched canvas gives the work a warmth and texture that feels as lived-in as the bonds it depicts.

A painting about unity, companionship, and the simple, profound power of not walking alone.

The costume is there — the greasepaint, the performance, the role. But for just this moment, he has stepped outside of it. His gaze is soft, turned inward, fixed on the white dove resting nearby. And in that stillness, everything the clown is supposed to conceal becomes quietly, beautifully visible.

This is a painting about the person behind the mask. About the tenderness that survives in even the most unlikely places. The dove — pure, unhurried — seems to hold space for him, as if it alone sees what the audience never does.

Richly layered in mixed media and oils, the work carries remarkable textural depth — built up and worked back, nostalgic and immediate at once. It is the kind of painting that draws you in slowly and stays with you long after.

Three tall, elegant figures stand shoulder to shoulder — each crowned with a distinctive headdress of vivid pink, each rendered in deep indigo and violet with an almost ceremonial presence. Around them, collaged text, stamps, and abstract script swirl against a richly layered ground of sky blue, soft lavender, and warm yellow — like the noise of a city, or the whisper of stories shared between old friends.

The figures are both anonymous and deeply expressive. There is a sense of ritual here, of community, of three voices that are stronger together than apart. It is a painting about togetherness — about the particular kind of confidence and warmth that comes from knowing you are not standing alone.

Vibrant, uplifting, and full of quiet power.

Three figures pause against a textured wall, each absorbed in their own world — a man, a woman, a child. A family, perhaps, or strangers sharing a moment in time. There is an atmosphere of stillness and unspoken connection that is impossible to shake.

The bold red horizon above and the earthy, muted tones of the wall below create a vivid contrast that draws the eye inward, giving the scene an almost cinematic quality. The simplified, silhouette-like forms invite the viewer to project their own meaning onto these passing shadows.

A moving piece for collectors drawn to figurative art that speaks softly but lingers long.

Figures reach upward with outstretched arms toward a blazing source of golden light at the centre — a moment of transcendence, joy, and collective awakening. The deep crimson and black tones surrounding them heighten the drama, making the luminous yellow and white core feel radiant and alive.

A piece that commands attention and stirs something deep — speaking to hope, spirituality, and the universal human longing to rise toward something greater.

A striking statement work for anyone drawn to expressive figurative art with emotional depth and spiritual resonance.
