A softly rendered female figure — delicately drawn in graphite, her expression quietly contemplative — gazes out from a luminous golden ground. Her hair dissolves entirely into a cascade of lush pink and mauve blossoms, flowers tumbling around her like thoughts she cannot quite contain: wild, beautiful, and beyond her control.

The textured mixed media surface gives the blossoms a wonderful tactile quality — each cluster built up with thick, spontaneous marks that contrast beautifully with the fine, careful lines of the face. She is both grounded and dreaming, present and elsewhere. The boundary between woman and garden has dissolved entirely, and neither is lesser for it.
