The background, layered with text and abstract white strokes, adds depth and complexity, suggesting a deeper narrative behind the figure’s raw energy.

An elderly face — weathered, intense, and unmistakably alive — emerges from a chaotic ground of collaged newsprint, slashing crimson, and electric teal. The figure is caught mid-expression, somewhere between anguish and defiance, their gaze pulling the viewer into an uncomfortable and deeply human confrontation.

Layers of dictionary pages and printed text form the foundation of the work, visible through washes of paint — as though the figure is emerging from, or being consumed by, the noise of the written world. Frantic white lines criss-cross the composition like static or unravelling thread, adding urgency and tension to an already visceral image. This is not a painting that allows you to remain at a comfortable distance. It demands to be felt.

For collectors who want art that refuses to be ignored — and refuses to let you look away.
